Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is building an ultra-low-latency blockchain data platform. This role focuses on end-to-end ownership of distributed services, from design through production, with emphasis on latency, reliability, and cost. You will work with Go and Python, and collaborate across product and platform teams.

You’ll operate on initiatives like new chain integrations, migrations, and backfills while applying strong systems design and AI-assisted improvements to workflows and data services.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering in distributed or data systems in production.
• Solid systems design fundamentals including partitioning, consistency/availability tradeoffs, stream processing, and boundaries.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Python; familiarity with Kafka, gRPC, Redis, S3, ClickHouse, or MongoDB.
• Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear designs with measurable impact.
• Blockchain or crypto data experience is a plus; familiarity with chain data structures and RPC.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed systems for real-time blockchain data ingestion, indexing, and query.
• Own delivery of key initiatives such as new chain integrations, migrations, and backfills, improving latency, reliability, and cost.
• Partner with product and platform teams to define data contracts and contribute to SDKs and primitives.
• Execute architecture and performance improvements across the indexing stack with strong design fundamentals.
• Support engineering quality through code reviews, testing rigor, and AI-assisted tooling.
