Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking engineers to help build and operate a high‑performance distributed system for real‑time blockchain data ingestion. This role focuses on end‑to‑end ownership from design to production, including latency, reliability, and cost improvements.

You will work with Go and/or Python, prototyping data contracts, and contributing to SDKs that enable adoption by Coinbase and external developers. A strong emphasis on architecture and AI‑assisted workflow efficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building and operating distributed or data systems in production.
• Knowledge of backend systems and data platforms is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed systems for real-time blockchain data ingestion, indexing, and query, owning services end-to-end from design docs and data modeling through code, rollout, and observability.
• Own delivery of key initiatives such as new chain integrations, migrations, and backfills, driving improvements to latency, reliability, and cost.
• Partner with product and platform teams to define data contracts and contribute to SDKs and primitives that drive adoption across Coinbase and external developers.
• Execute architecture and performance improvements across the indexing stack, applying strong systems design fundamentals around partitioning, consistency, stream processing, and storage boundaries.
• Support engineering quality across the team through code reviews, testing rigor, and leveraging AI tools to ship faster and reduce operational burden.
