Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking engineers for the Blockchain Data Platform to build and operate ultra-low-latency, distributed systems handling real-time blockchain data ingestion, indexing, and querying.

You will own services end-to-end from design through production and contribute to SDKs and primitives used across Coinbase and external developers. The role emphasizes latency, reliability, and cost improvements, collaboration with product teams, and responsible use of AI tools to enhance workflow

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building distributed or data systems in production.
• Solid systems design fundamentals including partitioning, consistency/availability tradeoffs, stream processing, and storage/compute boundaries.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Python, with familiarity across Kafka, gRPC, Redis, S3, ClickHouse, or MongoDB.
• Blockchain or crypto data experience is a plus and AI tooling awareness is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed systems for real-time blockchain data ingestion, indexing, and query, owning services end-to-end from design through production.
• Own delivery of initiatives such as new chain integrations, migrations, and backfills to reduce latency, increase reliability, and lower costs.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to define data contracts and contribute to SDKs and primitives used by Coinbase and external developers.
• Apply architecture and performance improvements across the indexing stack, emphasizing partitioning, consistency, and storage boundaries.
• Support engineering quality with code reviews, testing rigor, and responsible use of AI tools to ship faster.
