Job summary

USAA Life Insurance Company is seeking a Property Adjuster Specialist for the Albany, GA region. The role uses a virtual-first approach with field inspections, involving a company vehicle for on-site loss assessments.

Expect travel up to 75% and occasional CAT duties; overtime is paid and duties may extend beyond standard hours. The ideal candidate has a GED or high school diploma, 2 years of property claims adjusting experience, strong knowledge of Xactimate, and solid construction and contract

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of property claims adjusting experience of moderate complexity.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools.
• Proficient knowledge of residential construction.
• Proficient knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of state laws.
• Proficient negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% of the year and/or perform CAT duties.
• License as an insurance adjuster within 90 days and 3 attempts.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manages assigned claims caseload of complex damages.
• Partners with vendors to facilitate complex claims resolution and regulatory coordination where needed.
• Investigates claim damages using information from insured, third parties, and external resources.
• Reviews coverage and liability implications and determines coverage terms.
• Negotiates settlements within authority and escalates where required for external approval.
• Maintains accurate claim documentation throughout the process.
• Uses estimating tech and virtual inspection tools to prepare claims estimates for complex properties.
• Supports CAT response and occasional on-call work as needed.
