Job summary

CacheFly is seeking a technical leader for its Operations team to keep the global CDN fast, secure, and reliable. You will be a hands-on operator who leads from the front, troubleshooting Linux systems, HTTP internals, and networking while guiding a growing team.

You will own major incident responses, drive post-mortems, and coordinate with customers during escalations, with a path toward developing formal people leadership over time.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on Linux system administration at scale.
• Extensive understanding of HTTP, caching and network fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex, customer-facing incidents.
• Experience reverse-engineering architectures and documenting them.
• Clear, professional communication with customers under pressure.
• Proficiency with Nginx, HAProxy, Varnish, BGP, anycast and related OSs.
• Proficient scripting in Bash, Python, or PHP.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource and senior escalation point for the Operations team.
• Hands-on provisioning, upgrades, configuration management, performance work, and customer support.
• Lead responses on large-scale incidents and oversee smaller ones.
• Own communication with large and strategic customers during incidents and escalations.
• Author incident post-mortems and drive actionable follow-ups.
• Continuously improve CDN reliability, performance and operational excellence.
• On-call and escalation duties with a defined escalation path.
