Job summary

Coinbase is building the future of regulated derivatives within the Institutional Everything Exchange. As an FCM Tech Lead, you will be a hands-on technical anchor across the entire FCM lifecycle: market data, order entry and routing, settlement and reporting, and our in-house risk and liquidation system.

You will help lead a major replatforming onto next-gen architecture with ownership of a startup mindset and the reach of Coinbase.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend engineering in production systems.
• Experience in a regulated derivatives context (CFD/NFA-like).
• Track record delivering end-to-end platforms with hands-on coding.

Responsibilities

• Own design across FCM core including data, routing, settlement, and risk.
• Lead replatforming to next-gen architecture and reduce vendor dependencies.
• Set and enforce technical standards; perform reviews and reduce critical debt.
• Collaborate with product, risk, ops, and compliance to deliver auditable systems.
• Mentor engineers and scale engineering quality across the team.
