Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Software Engineer to join the CB Node team within the Platform organization. You will own performance analysis and optimization across the blockchain node stack, building observability and health-check capabilities to detect degradation and enable proactive scaling.

You will collaborate with protocol integration and wallet teams to extend improvements, help define SLOs/SLIs, and validate upgrades for resource efficiency before production rollout.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering with performance optimization experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and capacity tuning.
• Backend programming in Go and knowledge of profiling/observability tools.
• Interest in blockchain nodes and crypto infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own performance analysis and optimization tasks across the blockchain node stack.
• Build observability, health-check, and automated failover capabilities for blockchain nodes.
• Execute right-sizing improvements across the node fleet and contribute to capacity models.
• Partner with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to extend improvements.
• Support the definition and implementation of SLOs and SLIs for node services.
• Validate protocol upgrades for resource efficiency before production rollout.
