Job summary

HGI is a leading fire protection engineering firm focused on complex projects across diverse industries. We seek Fire Protection Lead and Senior Lead Engineers to own high-impact work, mentor a growing team, and provide technical leadership in a remote-friendly environment.

You will oversee designs for fire alarms, sprinklers, and smoke control, perform code research and analyses, and interface with clients and authorities having jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• PE license in Fire Protection is required for Senior Lead; preferred for Lead.
• 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, 10+ years for Senior Lead with leadership.
• Experience on high-stakes projects in manufacturing, healthcare, data centers, or industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection engineering tasks from concept to completion.
• Develop and oversee fire alarm, sprinkler, smoke control designs.
• Perform code research, hydraulic calculations, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, and regulators to ensure compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and support site visits and commissioning.
• Develop new methodologies and stay at the forefront of practice.
