Aoka is seeking an experienced fire protection professional to join us as a part-time, as-needed reviewer focused on fire and life safety plan reviews. This remote role is available anywhere in Texas and supports project-based work for our municipal clients.

You will evaluate IFC/IBC compliance, NFPA submittals, means of egress, fire-resistance, and fire protection system plans, delivering clear comments through VertexPlans and coordinating with designers, contractors, and fire officials.

Competenze

• Active ICC or TCFP Fire Plans Examiner certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire plan review.
• Availability to work part-time on an as-needed basis remotely (no guaranteed minimum hours).
• Strong technical command of the IFC, IBC, and NFPA 13, 14, 72, and 101.
• Prior experience performing fire plan reviews for municipalities preferred.
• Working knowledge of Texas fire code adoption and local fire marshal requirements.

Mansioni

• Review architectural and fire protection plans for IFC/IBC/NFPA compliance.
• Evaluate sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump submittals, including hydraulic calculations.
• Review fire alarm and detection system plans and battery calculations.
• Verify means of egress, occupant load, exit capacity and signage.
• Assess fire-resistance-rated construction and opening protectives.
• Review fire apparatus access, hydrant placement and special hazards.
• Prepare clear review comments through VertexPlans.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, and officials to resolve comments.
• Utilize VertexPlans for project tracking and reporting.
• Meet turnaround times while maintaining quality.
