Job summary
Leidos Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with Fire Life Safety expertise to join the NISC team. The role supports FAA's Fire Life Safety program, providing guidance, policy development, and planning to improve safety and compliance.
Remote position with up to 50% travel within the central US, and preference for candidates located in the central US region. The ideal candidate holds a PE or EIT and has experience with FLS codes, NFPA standards, and CRA surveys.
Qualifications
- PE license or EIT certification required or in pursuit.
- Strong working knowledge of ICC and NFPA codes.
- Experience delivering holistic FLS program consultation.
- Ability to produce FLS designs and provide critique of installations.
- Experience training FLS concepts and code application.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with development of FLS code and standards analyses.
- Provide guidance on applicability of codes to FAA facilities and mission.
- Offer FLS guidance to FAA on program initiatives where FLS is a stakeholder.
- Develop technical guidance on design and construction issues.
- Help develop standard specifications for FAA installations.
- Support FLS program planning, prioritization, and direction.
- Author white papers, proposals, and analysis papers for FLS stakeholders.
