Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Fire Equipment Service Engineer to perform NFPA certification testing on fire apparatus and perform field evaluations using NDT methods. The role requires extensive travel, strong communication, and meticulous data reporting, with responsibilities to verify equipment and ensure UL compliance.

You will discuss test methods and results with manufacturers and customers, maintain logs, and support continuous improvement in UL procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires AAS in NDT and ASNT Level II or higher and maintenance of certification.
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and technical ability are essential.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and evaluates examination and test results against applicable requirements.
• Uses technical judgment to evaluate noncompliance variations and assess acceptability of solutions.
• Audits customer quality management or assurance programs.
• Interprets test results against UL requirements and reviews equipment calibration.
• Maintains logs for scheduling inspections, time and expenses.
• Performs calculations in electrical, mechanical, chemical, or fire protection fields.
• Investigates deviations and supports corrective actions.
• Communicates with manufacturers and customers to resolve problems and discuss test methods.
