Job summary

UL Solutions in New Jersey seeks a Fire Equipment Service Engineer to perform NFPA certification testing on aerial devices, ladders, and ground equipment. The role includes field evaluations with non-destructive testing methods and requires extensive travel (up to 50%).

You will report results, ensure compliance, and interact with customers and authorities. Ideal candidates have an AAS in NDT, ASNT Level II or higher, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude with solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires AAS in NDT and ASNT Level II or higher certification.
• Familiarity with CP 189 or SNT-TC-1A is a plus.
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and client interfacing ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform NFPA certification testing on Fire Equipment Apparatus including aerial devices, pumpers and ladders.
• Conduct field evaluations using NDT methods: magnetic particle, visual, ultrasound, and penetrant testing.
• Report data accurately and timely; maintain logs of inspections, time and expenses.
• Interact with manufacturers, customers and authorities having jurisdiction to conduct inspections.
• Verify calibration of equipment and ensure compliance with UL standards.
• Discuss procedures, test methods, results and variations to resolve problems and help develop new requirements.
