Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a FinOps Engineer to optimize cloud spend, build cost models, and drive governance across a fully remote, global team. You will collaborate with engineering and finance to embed cost awareness in day-to-day decisions and support forecasting and budgeting processes.

The role emphasizes cost visibility, policy governance, and continuous improvement across cloud resources and investments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in cloud financial management or FinOps.
• Proven ability to optimize cloud spending and create cost allocation models.
• Experience with cloud cost management tools like CloudHealth, Kubecost, or AWS Cost Explorer.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cost allocation models to improve transparency into cloud spend across teams.
• Identify and deliver cloud cost-saving opportunities by detecting architectural waste and underused resources.
• Implement and oversee cloud financial policies using approved cost management tools.
• Partner with engineering and finance stakeholders to improve forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Track and report cloud efficiency metrics to support infrastructure investment decisions.
• Educate development teams on FinOps practices and cost-conscious engineering habits.
• Improve cloud spend visibility across the organization.
• Build and maintain cost allocation models.
• Identify and execute cloud cost optimization opportunities.
• Govern cloud financial policies.
• Support forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Monitor and report cloud efficiency metrics.
• Promote FinOps best practices within development teams.
