Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Financial Analyst to support the National Security Sector in a fully remote role within the United States. The position focuses on timely financial reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting for complex programs.

You will work with Senior Financial Analysts, manage data for forecasts and year-end processes, and collaborate with accounting, contracts, and procurement to ensure accuracy and compliance. Strong Excel skills and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• 2–5 years in a Finance role (Program Finance, Project Control, FP&A).
• Foundational understanding of Government contracting concepts (CAS, FAR, GAAP).
• Proficient in Excel with pivot tables and formulas; advanced skills a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; team contributor.
• Familiarity with contract types (FFP, T&M, Cost Type) helpful but not required.
• Potential to obtain/maintain U.S. DoW security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in timely financial reporting and variance analysis for programs.
• Support Senior Financial Analyst with budgeting, forecasts, and month-end close.
• Analyze key program drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare data to support program reviews and operational decisions.
• Monitor subcontracting spend and assist with voucher approvals.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, and Procurement to support operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
