Job summary

McClintock & Associates is seeking a Financial Aid Compliance Intern for Spring 2026 to join our team and gain hands-on experience in postsecondary audit services. You will assist with testing, review student files for Title IV compliance, and document findings under the guidance of a senior auditor.

The role emphasizes a family-focused culture, flexible training, and opportunities to learn through client conversations and practical tasks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Available to work approximately 25 hours per week, January through April.
• Coursework in auditing or financial accounting is preferred.
• Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting or audit.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compliance testing in a variety of areas, including student file testing, institutional eligibility, enrollment reporting procedures, and cash management.
• Review student files to assess compliance with Title IV regulations and FAFSA, transcripts, and student ledger cards.
• Prepare audit workpapers, analyze supporting documentation, perform recalculations, and document audit findings.
• Develop a working knowledge of AI applications and their practical use in audit services.
• Build practical skills in compliance auditing, documentation, professional communication, critical thinking, and working with financial aid regulations.
• Participate in client meetings and internal team meetings to gain exposure to the full audit process and collaboration.
