Job summary

Bernalillo County is seeking a Financial Accountant to perform complex accounting tasks within the Finance Department, including general ledger, enterprise funds, and grants management. The role prepares financial reports and ensures compliance with standards while supporting budgetary analysis and projections.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of work experience in accounting or finance.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex accounting duties in general ledger, enterprise funds, grants, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and treasury.
• Prepare annual financial statements for ACFR, including journal entries, reconciliations, and notes.
• Review and monitor departmental budgets and financial performance; conduct reconciliations and transfers.
