Job summary

Mission Underwriters is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to partner with the Finance and Data teams. The role focuses on validating financial data from the enterprise data warehouse, maintaining the daily finance ETL, and ensuring accuracy for accounting and reporting.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL, data validation, and insurance transaction knowledge, with experience in EDW collaboration and clear documentation. This is a remote US role with travel minimal.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in finance data analysis or related roles.
• 2+ years in insurance data (policy, premium, commissions, taxes, fees).
• Strong SQL skills with complex joins and aggregations.
• Experience validating data across ETL and EDW outputs.
• Ability to document queries, data definitions, and reconciliation logic.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Run, monitor, and troubleshoot the daily finance ETL process for policy transactions.
• Compare EDW outputs to finance ETL results and reconcile at multiple grain levels.
• Investigate variances and identify root causes such as missing/dup transactions.
• Develop reusable SQL queries and data pipeline components.
• Create automated validation checks and exception reporting for finance data.
• Collaborate with Finance to define metrics and data definitions.
• Document data flows, reconciliation procedures, and data quality decisions.
