Job summary

Mission Underwriters is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to partner with Finance and Data teams, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data from the enterprise data warehouse. You will own the daily finance ETL process, validate premium, taxes, and fees, and translate requirements into reliable data workflows.

The role combines insurance accounting knowledge with strong SQL, data analysis, and documentation skills to support accounting, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in finance data analysis, reporting, or related roles.
• 2+ years with commercial or specialty insurance data.
• Strong SQL skills with complex joins and validations.
• Experience comparing data across ETL processes and diagnosing discrepancies.
• Experience building recurring reports and data controls using SQL/BI.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for Finance/Data stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Run, monitor, and troubleshoot the finance ETL process daily.
• Compare EDW outputs with finance ETL, reconcile at policy/transaction levels.
• Investigate variances and root causes such as timing or data defects.
• Develop reusable SQL queries and process components.
• Establish automated validation rules and exception reporting.
• Provide accurate recurring data, reports, and schedules for Finance.
