Job summary

Lazer is a remote-first digital product studio with 180+ engineers and designers. We seek a hands-on Controller to own day-to-day accounting, close, reporting, and compliance, reporting to the CFO and Finance Manager.

You’ll drive automation, improve margins reporting, and scale finance systems for growth. You will partner with leaders to deliver clear, actionable financial insights, support audits, and strengthen processes as the company expands globally.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with at least seven years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across all entities, including journal entries and consolidations.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, management reporting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain clear accounting policies and working papers for audit trails.
• Own accounting for time-and-materials, fixed-fee, and retainer engagements and related revenue recognition.
• Run project reviews to improve reporting on revenue, cost, margin, utilization, and labour economics.
• Support forecasting, scenario analysis, and pricing decisions linked to business performance.
• Review client contracts for revenue recognition, billing terms, and collectability.
