Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is hiring a remote field service technician. The role installs, maintains and troubleshoots turbomachinery and package systems at customer sites, with on-site preventive maintenance and commissioning tasks. Candidates must reside in Georgia or Alabama and be able to travel as needed.

We offer competitive pay in the 65k–85k range plus OT, company truck, gas card, meals and lodging, and comprehensive benefits from day 1. A DOT drug screen and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen.
• Clean Driving Record (no moving violations within 12 months, no 2-point violations within 3 years, no DUIs within 7 years).
• Must obtain OGUK (offshore) certification by Solar-approved physician if necessary.
• Be able to obtain a legal Transportation Worker's Identification Credential.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of test equipment to diagnose and identify malfunctions with schematics and specifications.
• Under supervision use hand tools, gauges and instruments to analyze, repair or replace faulty parts; use digital tools.
• Observe and check for common causes of trouble; clean and lubricate equipment under supervision.
• Under supervision perform routine installations and make adjustments within normal procedures.
