Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Service Technician I to support testing, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage equipment in shop and field environments. The role involves 50% overnight travel across US-MA-Westborough and related field duties.

Responsibilities include testing breakers and transformers, wiring, troubleshooting controls, reading schematics, and documenting results with Power DB. Requires diploma, 3–6 years’ experience, and NETA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma
• 3-6 years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance
• Minimum 3 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing
• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred
• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to communicate effectively in English due to safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests
• Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement
• Wire circuit breakers
• Utilize and accurately read test equipment
• Read schematics and wiring drawings
• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls
• Read and plot time-current curves
• Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR
• Accurately and consistently document using Power DB
• Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets
