Job summary

The Manitowoc Company, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to assist distributors and customers in rigging, troubleshooting, and repairing Potain Tower Crane products.

This remote role reports to the Technical Service Manager in Shady Grove, PA, with 80% travel both domestic and international. You will train distributors and customers in erecting and maintenance of new models and provide ongoing technical support across sites and via phone.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years in manufacturing or heavy equipment distribution.
• Experience in troubleshooting, service, installation, or repair of cranes or heavy equipment.
• Able to read schematics and use common diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide aftermarket service support for Potain Tower Crane products on-site and over the phone.
• Assist distributors and customers with troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Maintain distributor relations regarding parts, service and warranty.
• Coordinate and administer Service Bulletins and Product Improvement Programs.
• Interact with personnel on service materials, requirements, and code compliance.
• Plan activities to investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems.
• Support vendor negotiations and communications related to PIPs and Bulletins.
