Job summary

RHI Magnesita N.V. is seeking a Field Service Technical Specialist to support customers across North America from a fully remote setting.

The role requires serving as a technical expert for flow control equipment, optimizing performance, reliability, and safe operation while collaborating with engineering, sales, and operations teams. You will lead commissioning activities, troubleshoot equipment challenges, and deliver training to ensure safe operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical training in mechanical maintenance or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel extensively to customer locations across North America.
• Ability to work safely in industrial manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for customer equipment and operational issues.
• Troubleshoot flow control equipment and identify root causes of performance challenges.
• Conduct on-site assessments and periodic customer visits to evaluate equipment condition and operating practices.
• Develop recommendations that improve equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
• Review customer storage practices for refractory materials and spare parts to ensure proper handling and preservation.
• Support installation, startup, and commissioning of flow control systems and related equipment.
• Partner with Sales and Engineering teams to plan and execute customer trials and project implementations.
• Monitor new equipment installations to ensure successful startup and operational readiness.
• Coordinate technical support activities and provide guidance during key project milestones.
• Deliver technical training to customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and technical consultation.
• Help customers maximize the value, performance, and longevity of installed equipment.
• Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Product Management teams to improve existing products and support new product development initiatives.
• Provide field feedback and customer insights that contribute to equipment innovation and performance enhancements.
• Mentor and support less experienced technical service personnel as needed.
