Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a field service engineer to perform startup, commissioning and customer training at locations across the United States. You will ensure reliable operation of decanters, high-speed separators, and heat exchangers, and provide remote support as needed.

You will participate in site inspections, perform pre-commissioning activities, and collaborate with project managers to meet specifications.

Qualifications

5+ years of field service experience aligned to products (DEC/HSS).
Strong customer service and sales orientation.
High service cultural competence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced mechanical skills and aptitude.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and/or controls.
Basic automation skills and ability to upload control programs.
Ability to explain equipment parameters and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform start-up and commissioning according to procedures, including FAT/SAT tests.
Report results and provide feedback to the project team.
Provide customer training (classroom and hands-on) on equipment operation and maintenance.
Tune equipment parameters to optimize performance and reliability.
Review P&ID flow charts and electrical diagrams.
Conduct site inspections and supervision prior to commissioning.
Perform pre-commissioning activities and on-site coordination with customers.
