Job summary

Sysco is seeking a driven Sales professional to execute a sales plan in Salem and Eugene, Oregon. You will build relationships, promote Sysco Specialty Meat Group products, and secure orders from current and prospective customers.

The role emphasizes consultative selling, territory management, and collaboration with inside sales. Salary includes commission and bonus, with up to 50% travel within the territory.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma; preferred 4-year degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science or related.
• Experience: 2 years in food service sales and culinary background preferred.
• Center of the Plate (COP) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business.
• Make in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
• Take customer orders with sales and profitability goals in mind.
• Coordinate input of orders with inside sales partners.
• Respond timely to customer problems and needs.
• Review daily out-of-stocks, shortages, transportation issues and implement solutions quickly.
• Review and analyze daily/weekly sales and margin reports for improvement opportunities.
• Stay informed about product applications, market conditions and competitors in the territory.
• Participate in training and customer events.
• Attend sales meetings with Sysco leadership.
• Develop relationships with accounts payable contacts at each account.
• Coordinate communication between accounts and AR management.
• Implement early action to control DSOs and avoid COD scenarios.
• Update bid files and customer profiles to ensure proper pricing and data accuracy.
