Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is seeking a Field Sales Applications Engineer to bridge technology and customers, providing pre-sales engineering, field support, and customer engagement for Control iD and related access control solutions.

The role supports integrators, consultants, and end users, with focus on demonstrations, system design, and deployments. Travel to customer sites is expected, and candidate must reside in the Northeastern US.

Qualifications

• 3-7+ years in a sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical support role in electronic access control or physical security.
• Strong understanding of access control components: credentials, readers, controllers, and management software.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, PoE, VLANs) and system integration principles.
• Experience working with system integrators, security consultants, and enterprise end users.

Responsibilities

• Partner with regional sales teams to provide technical expertise through the sales cycle.
• Deliver product demonstrations, system design consultations, and technical presentations.
• Support specification development with A&E firms and security consultants.
• Assist with system architecture design including readers, controllers, credentials, and software platforms.
• Provide hands-on support for product evaluations, pilots, and field troubleshooting.
• Act as SME on Control iD and electronic access control including biometric, mobile, and IP-based systems.
• Gather field intelligence to inform product and marketing strategies.
• Conduct technical training sessions for integrators and channel partners.
• Collaborate with product management, support, and engineering to resolve issues.
