ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Field Sales Applications Engineer to bridge our access control solutions with integrators, consultants, and end users. The role blends pre-sales engineering, field support, and customer engagement to drive adoption of Control iD and related technologies.

Remote position with travel up to 50% and residence in the Northeastern US. The ideal candidate will have 3–7+ years in sales engineering within electronic security, strong knowledge of readers, controllers, and software,

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years in sales engineering or applications engineering within electronic access control or physical security.
• Strong understanding of access control components (readers, controllers, credentials, software).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, PoE, VLANs) and system integration.
• Experience with integrators, security consultants, and enterprise end users.
• Ability to translate technical capabilities into customer value and business outcomes.
• Strong presentation and customer-facing communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 30–50%).

Responsibilities

• Partner with regional sales teams to provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle—from discovery to deployment.
• Deliver product demonstrations, system design consultations, and technical presentations to integrators and end users.
• Support specification development with A&E firms and security consultants to position solutions in project designs.
• Assist with system architecture design, including readers, controllers, credentials, and software platforms.
• Provide hands-on support for evaluations, pilots, and field troubleshooting.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Control iD and electronic access control technologies.
