Job summary

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Field Sales Applications Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between our access control solutions and the integrators, consultants, and end users who deploy them. Travel is expected up to 50% and this is a remote position with residence in the Northeastern US.

In this role you will blend pre-sales engineering, field support, and customer engagement to drive adoption of Control iD and related electronic access control technologies across key markets.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years in sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical support in electronic access control or physical security.
• Strong understanding of access control components: credentials, readers, controllers, software.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, PoE, VLANs) and system integration principles.

Responsibilities

• Partner with regional sales teams to provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.
• Deliver product demonstrations, system design consultations, and technical presentations to integrators and end users.
• Support specification development with A&E firms and security consultants.
• Assist with system architecture design including readers, controllers, credentials, and software platforms (cloud and on-prem).
• Provide hands-on support for product evaluations, pilots, and field troubleshooting.
• Act as SME on Control iD and electronic access control solutions, including biometric/mobile/IP-based systems.
• Gather field intelligence to inform product and marketing strategies.
• Conduct technical training sessions for integrators and channel partners.
