Job summary

HighRes is seeking a Robotic Automation Engineer II to join our Automation Engineering team, based in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. You will independently commission complex robotic systems, integrate lab instruments, and ensure successful deployments for life sciences customers across the region.

This field-based role requires strong software skills (C#, SQL, Python), experience with laboratory automation scheduling software, and travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 4+ years of experience; or Master’s degree and 3+ years; or Associate’s degree and 6+ years
• Hands-on experience deploying or supporting laboratory automation or industrial robotics in a customer-facing setting
• Experience with laboratory automation scheduling software such as CellarioScheduler, Green Button Go, Momentum, or Overlord
• Proficiency in C# or another object-oriented language
• Strong ability to lead complex technical deployments with minimal supervision
• Willingness to travel up to 40% annually (domestic and international)
• Current driver’s license and valid passport

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of commissioning complex systems, integrating robots and lab instruments
• Modify and troubleshoot CellarioScheduler workflows across complex deployments
• Partner with Applications team on end-to-end workflow design and deployment
• Own the acceptance path and verify deliverables before handover
• Support multi-system deployments with centralized workflow and sample tracking
• Execute FAT/SAT for complex systems with minimal external assistance
• Configure and troubleshoot automation hardware and devices
• Write and maintain automation software in C# and related scripts
• Configure relational databases supporting scheduling applications using SQL
• Travel to customer sites and Beverly, MA for training and collaboration
• Create and maintain technical documentation for deployed systems and issues
