Farmers Insurance is seeking a Field Property Claims Adjuster to travel to policyholders’ homes across College Station, Madisonville, Lufkin, and Huntsville, TX. The role demands on-site investigations, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent Customer service experience, preferable in a retail environment.
• Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Computer Literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.
• Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage from the inside out to identify how coverage applies to a particular loss.
• Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Valid driver's license and Bondable. Final candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check as this position may include a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct both virtual and on-site investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss, and negotiate settlements.
• Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to write estimates in a paperless environment.
• Evaluate and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to appropriate state and industry agencies.
• Perform duties independently, representing the company with professionalism.
• Engage with stakeholders including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, and investigators.
• Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims using strong customer service skills.
• Travel to policyholder homes as needed and be adaptable to field conditions.
• Promote safety and comply with company safety standards.
