Job summary

KoBold Metals is seeking a Field Operations Lead to plan and execute field activities across North America, reporting to the Field Operations Director North America & Europe. You will lead field operations for 1–3 projects/year in the United States and Canada, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will manage complex field programs, engage contractors, and coordinate with geologists, data scientists, and planners to deliver results while prioritizing safety and community relations.

Qualifications

• At least 12 years of experience conducting field operations in mineral exploration/mining/oil & gas.
• Must speak, read, and write in English; additional language skills are a benefit.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning of complex exploration projects in North America, including drilling campaigns and surveys.
• Lead 1–3 concurrent projects with accountability for scope, execution, and risk management.
• Develop procurement strategies and contract administration for NA programs.
• Create detailed project risk assessments and mitigation plans for diverse terrains.
• Lead project kick-offs with integrated teams and contractors.
• Execute end-to-end project delivery from mobilization to closure.
• Provide leadership during remote, seasonal, and extreme weather conditions.
• Track production rates, spend profiles, and resource needs.
• Manage field activities and contractor performance.
• Maintain communication with project team in the field.
• Lead site remediation and rehabilitation in line with regulations.
• Represent KoBold with local stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
