Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Fire Equipment Service Engineer to perform NFPA certification testing on aerial devices, pumps, ladders and related equipment. The role involves field evaluations, data reporting, and ensuring compliance with UL standards.

The candidate must travel extensively, possess strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, and communicate effectively with clients and authorities. Remote-ready work with periodic on-site travel supports safety and certification services.

Qualifications

• minimum AAS in NDT required
• ASNT Level II or higher certification required; must be current
• familiarity with large emergency or commercial vehicles a plus
• CP 189 or SNT-TC-1A, VT, MT, UT credentials a plus
• strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and client interfacing
• ability to lift/move up to 70 lbs; pass vision requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform NFPA certification testing on fire equipment and aerial devices
• Conduct field evaluations using NDT methods and verify test results
• maintain accurate data, logs and reports for UL standards
• interact with manufacturers, customers and authorities having jurisdiction
• calibrate equipment and ensure proper measurement device accuracy
• travel up to 50% for on-site inspections and assessments
