Job summary

AFL is seeking a Field Engineer – Energy (Remote Opportunity) to support electrical power systems for utility and telecom markets, including on-site installation and training. Based near Duncan, SC, you will collaborate with product managers and engineers and travel to customer sites to train end users.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of electrical distribution and transmission products.
• 5+ years in the electric utility field with relevant experience.
• Understanding of transmission, substation, and distribution construction/maintenance.
• Strong writing and verbal communication for training and customer contact.
• Willing to conduct trainings, demonstrations, and field troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for installation training and field investigations.
• Deliver hands-on product training and installation support.
• Assist customers with installation questions and develop training docs.
• Support new product development with installation insights.
• Create notes, manuals, and videos for products and procedures.
• Coordinate with managers, engineers, sales, and service teams.
• Travel to customer sites to train end users.
• Update procedures and documentation in area.
• Follow EHS policies and identify environmental/health impacts.
• Identify sustainability requirements from customers’ needs.
• Notify EHS about material/process changes.
