Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Commissioning Services Specialist to startup, commission, test PLC-controlled equipment and complete systems integration at customer sites. You will work with electrical technicians to bring up cabinets, load PLC software, and execute tests to confirm functionality and performance.

You will collaborate with engineering and software teams to ensure full integration with the customer's WMS interfaces and adhere to the SOW and safety protocols. Travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, robotics, industrial engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience with PLC systems (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley/Siemens) and HMIs.
• Experience with ABB or Fanuc robotics is a plus.
• Familiarity with Ethernet/IP and ProfiNet networks.
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Basic SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Motion control devices (VFDs) knowledge is a plus.
• Strong debugging and remote support capabilities.
• Team player able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in commissioning of HMI systems and PLC connections across customer systems.
• Conduct basic hardware tests to verify performance.
• Perform system functionality tests for WMS integration.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth commissioning.
• Support startup, commissioning, and testing at customer sites under supervision.
• Participate in system integration testing of adapter cells and safety systems.
• Follow the Commissioning SOW tasks like control cabinet startup and software loading.
