Job summary

nVent is seeking a technically skilled lead to partner with customers, sales and engineering to translate real-world challenges into practical data center solutions. This remote role requires a mechanical/electrical engineering background, 5+ years in technical applications, and the ability to travel ~30% across the US and Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in Data Center cooling and infrastructure.
• 5+ years in a technical applications role supporting Data Center product solutions.
• Remote work from the eastern US with travel ~30% across US/Canada.
• Strong background in Air and Liquid Cooling Solutions for data centers.
• Understanding of Data Center power architecture from UPS to rack level.

Responsibilities

• Serve as domain authority for Data Solutions products across Sales, Product Management, and Operations.
• Provide first-line product support to customers and colleagues using Data Solutions.
• Evaluate RFQs and build costed quotes with technical and commercial content.
• Provide technical application assistance to tailor products to customer needs.
• Prepare and submit quotations for non-standard products using CPQ/ERP systems.
• Conduct product training for customers and distributors on quoting tools.
• Prepare compliance documents against specifications.
• Lead strategic projects for product improvements, cost reduction, and new development.
• Review training literature for accuracy and update guides and procedures.
• Represent nVent in industry codes and standards committees.
• Provide market intelligence to commercial teams and support VOC visits.
• Collaborate with the Sales Leader to plan activities and prioritize opportunities.
• Identify projects in closing phase and provide key technical support.
• Advise the manager on significant developments and upcoming decisions.
