Job summary

Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is seeking skilled technicians for field assignments across the central US. You will work remotely from home, traveling to sites such as central offices, data centers, and huts to install, test, and maintain fiber optic systems using OTDR and basic remediation.

The role requires at least 1 year of fiber experience, clean driving record, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You must supply personal tools; benefits include PTO, holidays, life insurance, and a 401(k) with

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in communications centers or fiber testing preferred.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and endure outdoor work in varying weather.
• Must supply minor personal tools and be able to read fiber labeling/Span Basic docs.
• Knowledge of OTDR and fiber characterization practices.
• Familiarity with telecommunications network structures.

Responsibilities

• Install or remove transport or switching equipment in central offices, huts, or data centers.
• Place fiber jumper cables and manage fiber in physical premises.
• Perform OTDR testing and basic remediation from results.
• Travel to field sites across the central US region as assigned.
