Job summary

Vero is seeking a self-motivated Fiber Designer to manage the integrity and documentation of our physical and logical network. In this remote-eligible role, you will design complex fiber optic splicing plans based on customer specifications, translate requirements into detailed engineering designs, and collaborate across departments and with contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of telecommunications experience with knowledge of engineering drawings and OTDR traces.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Experience with fiber optic inventory systems and GIS tools (Google Earth, AutoCAD, QGIS, ArcGIS).
• Strong analytical abilities and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents to ensure accurate network reflection in the inventory system.
• Conduct QA audits on data integrity.
• Design complex fiber optic splicing plans based on customer specifications.
• Coordinate with project managers and vendors to execute network designs.
• Review OTDR traces and analyze post-construction data.
• Audit contractor close-out packages to verify fiber specifications.
• Provide remote tier-2 and tier-3 technical support for field crews.
