Job summary

Latino Outdoors seeks a Federal Lands Special Project Manager to oversee a multi-year portfolio, guiding policy and program development across federal lands. You will lead contract development, grant management, and budgeting while coordinating with internal and external partners to advance land management goals.

You will work to ensure effective program delivery, compliance, and strategic growth, with telework flexibility and a full-time, non-permanent appointment; anticipated October

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a major emphasis in forestry, natural resource management, or related field and five years of relevant experience.
• Experience in performance management, budgeting, contract management, and partner relations.
• Knowledge of public and business administration, budgeting, economics, and management.
• Knowledge of natural resource management concepts and timber/land management planning.
• Experience with contract development, administration, and multi‑program coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the section’s long-term project portfolio, including policy and procedure development.
• Provide field assistance for compliance, monitoring, and technical support.
• Draft, review, and ensure compliance of federal and state agreements and contracts.
• Develop strategic plans for emergent project types and pilot new mechanisms.
• Manage federal and state grant research, development, and administration.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners on current and future projects.
• Support cross‑programmatic functions and outcomes across the division.
