Job summary

National Institutes of Health (DOHHS) is seeking Grants Management Specialists to support the full lifecycle of federal awards, from pre-award through post-award and stewardship. You will participate in budget negotiation, policy interpretation, and guidance to applicants and grantees within a multi-grade team.

Roles span GS-11 to GS-13 levels, with responsibilities ranging from managing renewal applications to coordinating complex portfolios while ensuring compliance with Federal requirements

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M.
• 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 level in the Federal service OR a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage a grants portfolio and renewal applications.
• Negotiate budgets, award periods, and grant terms and conditions.
• Advise applicants and grantees on financial and management matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures in award administration.
• Provide guidance to lower-graded staff on grants management duties.
