Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to join our client service delivery team. This 100% remote, full-time role requires a Public Trust clearance and will work with federal stakeholders to analyze financial data, improve processes, and support strategic decisions using SAC/BI tools.

You will collaborate with designers, developers, and budget SMEs to deliver a best-in-class planning solution for federal budgeting and reporting. Remote work with <20% travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics and reporting, management or technology consulting, or operations analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and organizational decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions that enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies, system data structures, and operational procedures to assess impacts on business and financial processes.
• Utilize business intelligence and analytics tools to maximize the value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions that improve operational effectiveness, reporting capabilities, and financial performance.
• Create quality documentation across all phases of SDLC and develop test plans and use cases.
