Job summary

SMX seeks a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the Client Service Delivery team. This 100% remote, full-time role supports federal budgeting, planning, and data-driven decision making for government customers using SAC and BI tools. Travel is minimal (<20%). A Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

You will collaborate with government stakeholders, analyze financial data, document requirements, and help deliver end-to-end solutions across the SDLC, including testing and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, information systems or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in federal financial management or related areas.
• Experience with data analytics, reconciliation, and exception resolution.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data to support decision-making.
• Document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Review policies and data structures to assess impacts on processes.
• Develop test plans and business use cases; manage test execution.
