Job summary

Signal Centers is seeking a Family Child Care Coach to support family and group child care professionals across Tennessee. The role focuses on coaching, training, and technical assistance to improve program quality, with a requirement for travel within the state and occasional after-hours work.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, have at least three years in early childhood, and be capable of adult training and content creation for CCR&R resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of three years of early childhood/education experience.
• Direct care experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of TN QRIS and licensing, plus the role of the TN Child Care Resource and Referral Network.
• Ability to train adults using adult learning principles.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to child care programs on weeknights or weekends.
• Deliver in-person and virtual trainings for large and small groups.
• Create and facilitate peer learning groups for family and group child care professionals.
• Conduct onsite visits to family and group child care programs within the assigned TN service area.
• Assist with planning and delivery of statewide Family & Group Child Care conference.
• Submit data on training, coaching, and technical assistance within 3 days of service delivery.
• Stay current on quality practices for home-based child care businesses; maintain knowledge of TN QRIS.
