Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Supervisory Healthcare Engineer (Recruitment/Relocation Incentive) to lead the Facility Planning & Activations team in San Antonio, TX.

The role provides executive-level planning, directs engineering, construction, and activation activities, and ensures adherence to VA, JC, OSHA, OIG standards. The incumbent coordinates multidisciplinary teams, develops strategic plans, and oversees budget, SEPS, and CAD/BIM development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture from ABET/NCARB accredited program.
• Experience coordinating facility planning and activation projects.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex construction activations.

Responsibilities

• Advise on facility planning, design, activation, and capital planning initiatives.
• Lead facility master planning, space management, occupancy planning, and growth planning.
• Oversee construction activations, relocations, FF&E, and decommissioning activities.
• Direct and supervise facility planning, engineering, construction, inspection, and activation work.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations; manage contracts and QA.
