Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Healthcare Engineer (Project Engineer) at the Salem VAMC to plan, design, manage, and administer Minor Construction, NRM, Station Level projects and Leases across the medical center and clinics.

The role requires strong knowledge of healthcare engineering standards, coordination of A/E and Construction contracts, and leadership of cross-disciplinary teams. A recruitment incentive is available for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required.
• English language proficiency stated.
• Education from ABET-accredited program or NCARB-equivalent required.
• GS-12 level requires relevant engineering/architectural knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and oversee major healthcare system projects.
• Coordinate A/E and Construction contracts to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain construction specifications and codes reference library.
• Act as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for design/construction projects.
• Lead Integrated Project Team (IPT) and liaise with stakeholders.
