Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Healthcare Engineer (Project Engineer) at the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System.

The role plans, designs, and manages healthcare engineering and construction projects, oversees architect‑engineer and construction contracts, and serves as COR while leading multidisciplinary teams. The incumbent ensures compliance with VA standards, healthcare codes, safety requirements, budgets, and schedules, with eligibility for grandfathering provisions for

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture from ABET-accredited program
Passing Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) or EIT certificate
Current Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect licensure
Experience applying healthcare engineering standards and codes in project contexts

Responsibilities

Plans, designs, manages, and administers healthcare engineering and construction projects in a VA setting.
Oversees architect‑engineer and construction contracts and acts as COR.
Leads multidisciplinary project teams and coordinates with stakeholders.
Ensures compliance with VA standards, healthcare codes, safety requirements, budgets, and schedules.
