Job summary

Switch is seeking a DCO Facilities Chief Engineer to act as the senior technical authority for data center infrastructure. You will provide expert leadership across electrical, mechanical, environmental, and life safety systems, driving improvements and supporting commissioning, design reviews, and validation of operational readiness.

You will lead technical responses during infrastructure events, mentor engineers, and ensure safety, compliance and continuous improvement across multi-campus

Qualifications

• Senior technical authority for facilities infrastructure in data centers.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and safety programs.
• Ability to translate technical findings into operational improvements.
• Clear communication across technicians, engineers, vendors and leadership.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and disciplined execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for critical power, cooling and environmental systems.
• Lead responses during infrastructure events and support root cause analysis.
• Participate in Change Advisory Board reviews and plan changes.
• Support commissioning, startup and deployment of new equipment.
• Review design documents and give operational feedback.
• Drive maintenance strategies, automation and processes.
• Lead sessions to resolve recurring facilities challenges.
• Approve maintenance procedures, safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Develop infrastructure performance metrics and reporting.
• Mentor technicians and engineers to strengthen DCO capability.
• Deliver technical training on arc flash, power, hydraulics and control sequences.
• Support audits and certification activities.
• Travel to support multi-campus initiatives.
