Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geologist specializing in exploration to join our remote team, contributing to identification of new oil and gas reserves. You will analyze data, interpret results, and develop subsurface mappings to guide exploration strategies.

You will collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers, leverage Petrel and GeoGraphix and remote sensing data to assess plays, with a focus on discovery and flexible, remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Geology or related earth science.
• Minimum 6 years of oil and gas exploration geology experience.
• Proficiency with Petrel and GeoGraphix; interpretation techniques.
• Strong understanding of sedimentary basins and petroleum systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic data, well logs, and core samples to characterize subsurface geology.
• Develop 3D geological models and maps to identify hydrocarbon targets.
• Evaluate exploration risks and uncertainties with new prospects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological insights into plans.
• Stay abreast of new exploration technologies and methodologies.
