Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Geologist for our exploration and production team based in George. You will analyze geological data, interpret subsurface structures, and advise drilling and development strategies.

This role offers hybrid work balancing field and office duties, collaboration with geoscientists and engineers, and opportunities to contribute to diverse hydrocarbon projects in the George region.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or related geoscience field.
• 5-10 years of experience in geological exploration and reservoir characterization.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and sedimentology.
• Experience evaluating and recommending drilling targets for exploration wells.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret seismic, well log, and core data to delineate hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Develop and maintain 3D geological models and maps to define resource potential and risks.
• Conduct geological fieldwork, including outcrop studies and core logging, to ground-truth interpretations.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to develop integrated subsurface models and field development plans.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and presentations for management and exploration committees.
• Stay abreast of new exploration technologies and methodologies relevant to the oil and gas industry.
