Placements24 is seeking a Remote Exploration Data Scientist to join a globally distributed team. You will apply AI, ML, and statistical methods to geological, geophysical, and geochemical data, targeting new resource discoveries and optimized exploration strategies.

You will build predictive models, develop data pipelines, and communicate insights through dashboards to diverse stakeholders, while staying current with industry AI advancements.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, CS, Statistics, Geosciences, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of data science experience, with geology/exploration exposure preferred.
• Proficient in Python or R and common ML libraries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced analytical models and ML algorithms for geological data.
• Process, clean, and integrate large, complex exploration datasets.
• Identify exploration targets from data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with geologists to translate findings into sols.
• Build predictive models for resource potential and success rates.
• Create visualizations and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Stay updated on AI/ML trends in mining and data management practices.
• Design and run experiments to evaluate new models.
