Job summary

Eastern PA Trans Equity Project seeks an Executive Director to lead a growing nonprofit empowering transgender individuals through direct support, advocacy, education, and community-building.

The ED will guide strategic and operational direction, ensure financial sustainability, and strengthen EPTEP’s impact across Pennsylvania. This remote role requires residency within EPTEP’s 42-county footprint, with travel and occasional evening/weekend work.

Qualifications

• Five years of nonprofit leadership or equivalent management experience.
• Experience in fundraising and cultivating donor relationships.
• Ability to balance day-to-day operations with long-term planning.
• Passion for advancing equity and supporting transgender communities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived or professional experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization’s strategic and operational direction, including long-term strategic roadmap and financial sustainability.
• Support and mentor staff while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.
• Lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts.
• Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, and organizational sustainability.
• Strengthen partnerships with community organizations, funders, and stakeholders.
• Serve as a visible advocate and spokesperson for EPTEP’s mission.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate mission-aligned programs with staff and volunteers.
• Partner with the Board of Directors to guide strategy and growth.
